I mentioned in my procrastination post that I enjoy taking online quizzes. I consider myself to be pretty self-aware, but I still find answering a few questions and gaining additional insight (whether correct or not) to be both enlightening and entertaining. This evening, I took the latest quiz that has been filling up my Facebook news feed – What Color is Your Aura? I quickly answered the questions, and my results appeared. Yellow Aura! Here is a summary of my results:
Optimism…check! Encouragement…check! Good with words…check! Great health…I try! Pleasant disposition…check! Over-analyze…I’m writing this post aren’t I?!?! Happy people everywhere…check!
Fits me to a T!
…Or does it? The results of this quiz got me thinking. Did I answer these questions accurately? Or did I have my ideal self in mind when I answered them?
I’m pretty sure that it’s a combination of both, and honestly, I don’t really think it matters. When I was younger, my mom used to tell my siblings and me to pick people that we admire and try to be like them. She taught us from a young age that we won’t just wake up one day possessing the qualities that we desire. We have to work towards them. Every single day. It all goes back to the journey. We never arrive.
I love all the words used to describe my yellow aura. I genuinely feel that I fit the profile most days, but the fact is, sometimes I don’t. I’m not always optimistic, but I want to be. I don’t always have a pleasant disposition, but I want to. I hope that this quiz that seems silly on the surface will motivate me. When I’m feeling less “yellow” one day, I will remember the description that I like so much and fake it ’til I make it. I am yellow!
In other news, tomorrow is exactly 100 days until my 33rd birthday! Yikes! When did that happen? I’ve decided to properly enjoy the journey to 33 by participating in the #100HappyDays movement, but I’m going to add my own spin to it. In addition to the #100HappyDays hashtag, I’m also going to include a #WeNeverArrive hashtag. To me, committing to being happy for 100 days is a sure fire way to be better, too! I’ll be tweeting, blogging, and instagramming along the way! Care to join in on the fun?
